        Healing Through Anxiety is a 12-week online group program created by holistic mental health and wellness practitioner and licensed acupuncturist, Katerina Baratta, MS, LAc.

        This powerful program combines ancient healing practices with modern science to help you heal the root causes of stress and anxiety.

        What is the time commitment?

        It varies, but 2 things are certain:

        1) The more you put into this program, the more you’ll get out of them. 

        2) A little bit every day –even just 2 minutes!– can add up to big results in the long run.

        Over the course of 12 weeks we will meet for a live 1-2 hour session every other weekend (6 sessions total). These sessions will be recorded so you can still watch them if you can’t make it.

        You won’t get to the root of the issue if you don’t apply what you’ve learned to your actual life, and there is a treasure-trove of prerecorded resources available to help you integrate this work on the HTA website.

        There’s a lot of wiggle room for busy lifestyles, but the general recommendation is to set aside about 20-60 minutes per day to get the most benefit from the practices.

        Still, if that sounds like a lot to you, don’t worry. Some of these practices simply require a mindset shift as you go about your everyday business.

        The idea is to give you the tools to manage stress more effectively, we definitely don’t want to add more stress to your life!

        So if you can only do a few minutes a day, then start there. And if you feel yourself getting overwhelmed, it’s totally fine to back off a bit.

        It’s much more important to show up for these practices regularly than it is to do a whole lot all at once.

        Does this program cure mental illness?

        This program is not intended to treat or cure any disease or illness, including any diagnosed mental illness. That said, it can be fantastic addition to therapy and other treatments.

        Is this program guaranteed to heal my anxiety?

        Nope, it’s definitely not, and if anyone promises you a program that does, run for the hills, my friend!

        Because anxiety isn’t a disease or a disorder. It’s a symptom of a deeper imbalance. So when imbalances show up in your life, as they inevitably do, anxiety might show up again every once in a while, too.

        What Healing Through Anxiety does is teach you how to reduce the stress that’s stored in your body and improve your response to stress so you can navigate life’s challenges with more ease and grace.

        There are no guarantees in life and healing, but what I can tell you is that since learning and utilizing the practices that I teach in Healing Through Anxiety, I haven’t experienced anxiety for many, many years.

        Maybe a moment here or there, sure.

        But while anxiety used to be a storm that took over my mind and body, it’s more like a wave in the ocean now.

        It comes up, and then it goes away again, as quickly as it came. And I’ve used these practices with countless patients over the years who have experienced similar degrees of relief as well.

        The biggest shift that you will notice when you enroll in Healing Through Anxiety is that your relationship with anxiety changes.

        It’s not that you’ll never feel anxious again. You most likely will. But when it shows up, you’ll greet it as a trusted advisor, showing you that something in your life is calling to be healed.

        How is this different than therapy?

        Healing Through Anxiety is therapeutic, but it’s not therapy. That said, it is a great program to use alongside therapy, and I encourage participants to work with a somatic/trauma-informed therapist for extra support. 

        In our live sessions we will utilize holistic healing strategies from around the world to help you heal the root causes of stress and anxiety, and many of these can be utilized to deepen the effects of therapy.

        However, we won’t talk about what your parents did or didn’t do to you, (as you are likely to do in therapy sessions,) so much as we will explore the stress patterns that are currently active in your mind-body system, and how to release them.

        Mental health really can’t be separated from the body or spirit.

        Your body is always talking to you. It’s sending you messages via signs, symptoms, and feelings, which are trying to alert you to physical and energetic imbalances that arise in your system.

        Some of these imbalances are stress patterns stuck in your nervous system from the past. Some come from your diet and lifestyle. And sometimes stress and anxiety are messages from your intuition/Higher Knowing/Inner Wisdom/Spirit/God/Whatever-you-want-to-call-it, trying to help you change your life so you can align with your personal Truth.

        A big part of Healing Through Anxiety is to teach you how to release old stress patterns that are stored in your body (and activate anxiety).

        You will also learn techniques that help you connect with the deepest parts of yourself so you feel guided and supported, no matter what life throws at you.

         

        What kind of practices are taught in Healing Through Anxiety?

        I already have a set of practices I use (meditation, yoga, etc.) How is this different?

        Healing Through Anxiety is a trauma-informed program that takes a truly holistic approach to healing.

        While practices like meditation and yoga are part of the curriculum, there are many other contributing factors to consider when healing anxiety (nutrition, mindset, trauma release exercises, etc.)

        There is no such thing as one-size-fits-all when it comes to healing. Different people need different forms of support at different times. So if you’ve been practicing meditation and yoga and still feel like something is off, chances are you haven’t found the strategies that you need right now in order to heal. 

        Healing Through Anxiety can help you figure out what you need now, and equips you with tools and understanding that you can turn to for the rest of your life as your needs change.

        How much does it cost?

        12 payments of $67 or one payment of $750.

        This price reflects an attempt to accommodate people in the median income range in the US ($50-90,000/year) while still supporting Katerina’s work.         I'm religious, will this go against my faith?

        I help people heal by restoring the energy flow in their mind and body.

        When energy is allowed to flow, you feel vibrant and healthy.

        When there is an energetic blockage, dis-ease arises.

        This is because everything in the physical world is made of energy.

        If you zoom in on an atom, for example, you find that it is almost entirely made up of empty space.

        And any part that can be identified as not empty is energy.

        So an accurate way to think of your physical body is that it is made up of empty space in which energy flows. 

        You are the empty space in which life’s energy flows.

        And your thoughts and behaviors impact the flow of energy.

        They’re all interrelated as parts of the same system.

        My work is to help you identify and release energetic blockages from your system so you can thrive.

        And this can be on the level of body, mind, and yes, spirit –but not spirit as in religious doctrine.

        Spirit as in: the space in which energy flows.

        The space inside of you that is beyond thought, beyond the mind, beyond interpretation.

        Spirit as in: where energy comes from.

        Spirit as in: that which allows energy to flow in the first place.

        In my experience, in order to heal stress and anxiety you have to tap into the realm of spirit.

        Because the realm of spirit is where you find the capital “T” Truth, and it’s only the Truth that can ultimately set you free.

        You can talk about your problems with your therpist all you want, but you’re probably not going to get to the root of the issue.

        Because a talk therapist is totally focused on the realm of the mind.

        And the mind’s job is to identify and fix problems.

        It’s so good at what it does, in fact, that when there are no problems the mind will create new problems so it can have something to fix.

        The mind itself is a big part of where stress and anxiety come from.

        In order to heal stress and anxiety, you have to move beyond the realm of the mind.

        It’s when you learn to shift your focus beyond the mind, into your actual lived experience of this space in which life’s energy flows, that you find inner peace.

        Religions use words to point toward this space, in Christianity it’s called “The realm of heaven”.

        But the thing is, words can only point the way.

        To know it, you have to experience it for yourself.

        I believe that all great teachings are pointing to paths up the same mountain.

        The words they use might differ, but they all point to the capital “T” Truth that includes the space in which life’s energy flows.

        If you study and compare the roots of different religious traditions you will see what I mean.

        And because different teachings can help different people at different times, I draw on teachings from many great masters from various traditions.

        Jesus is one of those masters that I love to turn to, but he’s not the only one. And if this is a problem for you, then we’re not going to be a good fit.

        If, however, you are open to occasional refrences that are outside of a specific religious doctrine, then chances are you’re going to love this work.

        If want to commune with what is really here, if you want to explore who you really are, if you want to tap into the part of you that is eternal and steady within the storms of life, beyond the mind’s interpretation, then we can go far together.

        My job is not to try to convince you of anything or contradict your religion.

        Of coures, it could happen that what I say one day doesn’t agree with what your preacher says.

        Everyone has different views, even within the same religion.

        And I’m open to conversation if you are.

        The wonderful thing is that the Truth is beyond interpretation.

        Peace is beyond interpretation.

        It is the space underneath all that noise.

          The Story Behind the Program

          Hi, I’m Katerina Baratta, LAc, MS. 

          I’m a holistic mental health & wellness practitioner, teacher, and writer.

          My work and this program are dedicated to helping people like you heal the root causes of stress and anxiety so you can show up for life the way you want to. 

          I know how you feel, because I used to have debilitating anxiety myself.

          It manifested in many different ways.

          First, anxiety showed up disguised as a body-image issue. I was afraid that people wouldn’t like me if I wasn’t “pretty enough,” which in the 90’s –when heroin chic reigned supreme– also meant “skinny enough”.

          This caused me to go on dangerous starvation diets and endure grueling workouts in hopes that I’d feel better once I lost weight.

          But it didn’t help. Even when I lost weight I still felt awful about myself. 

          when I was about to finish my master’s degree, I landed in the ER with a panic attack.

          I hadn’t realized how nervous I was to fly out of my university’s nest, but there I was, feeling like I couldn’t breathe.

          Even when things looked calm on the surface, I was pretty much always worried that something was already wrong, or was about to go wrong in my life.

          Then anxiety came in the form of relationship OCD. 

          The fear of future heartache was so strong that I almost broke up with the man who is now my husband. (It took a lot of inner work but I have no regrets. We’ve been happily married since 2015).

          anxiety followed me for years, but it was the relationship anxiety that really motivated me to figure out how to heal.

          Here I was with this guy who checked all the boxes, and all I could think about was how I’d break his heart if someone “better” came along one day.

          The worst part? I knew intellectually where this fear came from.

          Infidelity had been a major factor in my parents’ divorce, and it was crystal clear to me that I was afraid that history would repeat itself. But the fact that I understood the origins of my anxiety just made the anxiety worse, because the intellectual understanding didn’t feelings of tightness, restlessness, and “wrong-ness” I felt in my body.

          no matter how much I talked about my feelings and experiences with my therapist, the anxiety didn’t go away.

          So I tried a few rounds of hypnotherapy. Didn’t work.

          Next up was a shaman. Still, the feelings persisted.

          Nobody seemed to understand what my problem was, and if they did, they were still clueless as to how to help me. 

          Nothing helped me feel better until I learned how to rewire my nervous system.

          And now I’d like to teach you how to do that too, if you’re interested.

          It’s not that I never feel anxious anymore.

          It still creeps in now and again.

          The difference is that now I know what to do with the information that anxiety is giving me.

          I now know that anxiety is here to guide me.

          It’s showing me –with painful clarity– that there is something in me that is calling to be healed.

          And because I know how to rewire my nervous system, I now know which practices to use in order to facilitate that healing.

          It took me years to learn how to do this.

          Initially, I was lucky enough to recognize that the feelings I was having weren’t just a problem in my head.

          I felt the tension of anxiety on a very physical level, and so I tried dozens of strategies to try to help me feel better better in my body.

          Yoga, acupuncture, massage, sensory deprivation, essential oils…you name it, I tried it. Some strategies helped me relax, but they didn’t help me heal the root of the issue.

          Eventually I went to graduate school to study Chinese medicine, in hopes that it would help me  find the answer to my anxiety.

          And it worked! But surprisingly, not through acupuncture, not through nutrition, and not through herbs, (although I love, use, and prescribe all of these modalities for support on the regular.)
