    Hi, I’m Katerina Baratta, LAc, MS. 

    I’m a holistic mental health & wellness practitioner, teacher, and writer.

    This caused me to go on dangerous starvation diets and endure grueling workouts in hopes that I’d feel better once I lost weight.

    But it didn’t help.

    Even when I lost weight I still felt awful about myself. 

    Then anxiety came in the form of relationship OCD. 

    The fear of future heartache was so strong that I almost broke up with the man who is now my husband.

    (It took a lot of inner work but I have no regrets. We’ve been happily married since 2015).

    And when I was about to finish my master’s degree, I landed in the ER with a panic attack.

    I hadn’t realized how nervous I was to fly out of my university’s nest, but there I was, feeling like I couldn’t breathe.

    Those are just the stories.

    But even when things looked calm on the surface, I was pretty much always worried that something was already wrong, or was about to go wrong in my life.

    anxiety followed me for years, but it was the relationship anxiety that really motivated me to figure out how to heal.

    Here I was with this guy who checked all the boxes, and all I could think about was how I’d break his heart if someone “better” came along one day.

    The worst part?

    I knew where this fear came from.

    Infidelity had been a major factor in my parents’ divorce, and it was crystal clear to me that I was afraid that history would repeat itself.

    But the fact that I knew this just made the anxiety worse.

    Because the intellectual understanding didn’t fix the way I felt the way it was “supposed” to, and I didn’t know what else I could do.

    no matter how much I talked about my feelings and experiences with my therapist, the anxiety didn’t go away.

    So I tried a few rounds of hypnotherapy.

    That didn’t work either.

    Next up was a shaman.

    Still, the feelings persisted.

    Nobody seemed to understand what my problem was. 

    And if they did, they were still clueless as to how to help me. 

    Nothing helped me feel better until I learned how to rewire my nervous system.

      It’s not that I never feel anxious anymore.

      It still creeps in now and again.

      The difference is that now I know what to do with the information that anxiety is giving me.

      Initially, I was lucky enough to recognize that the feelings I was having weren’t just a problem in my head.

      I felt the tension of anxiety on a very physical level, and so I tried dozens of strategies to try to help me feel better better in my body.

      Yoga, acupuncture, massage, sensory deprivation, essential oils…you name it, I did it.

      Some strategies helped.

      A lot of them didn’t.

      Eventually I went to graduate school to study Chinese medicine, in hopes that it would help me  find the answer to my anxiety.

      And it worked!

      But surprisingly, not through acupuncture, not through nutrition, and not through herbs, (although I love, use, and prescribe all of these modalities for support on the regular.)

      the most profound healing I experienced happened through the practices I learned.

      After years of dedicated study and personal trial and error, I had finally honed in on what actually made a difference.

      I finally figured out what would actually help me heal, on the deepest level.

            What is the time commitment?

            It varies, but 2 things are certain:

            1) The more you put into these practices, the more you’ll get out of them. 

            2) A little bit every day –even just 2 minutes!– can add up to big results in the long run.

            If you choose to use it, the Healing Through Anxiety Roadmap will guide you through a 21-week, step-by-step system that will help you painlessly integrate these practices into your daily routine.

            There’s a lot of wiggle room for busy lifestyles, but the general recommendation is to set aside about 20-60 minutes per day to get the most benefit from these practices.

            Still, if that sounds like a lot to you, don’t worry.

            Some of these practices simply require a mindset shift as you go about your everyday business.

            And these practices definitely aren’t meant to stress you out more than you already are!

            If you can only do a few minutes a day, then start there.

            And if you feel yourself getting overwhelmed, it’s totally fine to back off a bit.

            How is this different than therapy?

            Most therapy involves talking about your thoughts, feelings, past experiences and hopes for the future.

            But it doesn’t always help you know what to do about your feelings, because therapy often stops short of healing the root cause of what’s going on.

            See, mental health really can’t be separated from the body or spirit.

            Your body is always talking to you.

            It’s sending you messages via signs, symptoms, and feelings, which are trying to alert you to physical and energetic imbalances that arise in your system.

            Some of these imbalances are stress patterns stuck in your nervous system from the past.

            Some come from your diet and lifestyle.

            And sometimes stress and anxiety are messages from your intuition/Higher Knowing/Inner Wisdom/Spirit/God/Whatever-you-want-to-call-it, trying to help you change your life so you can align with your personal Truth.

            A big part of Healing Through Anxiety is to teach you how to release old stress patterns that are stored in your body (and activate anxiety).

            Is this program guaranteed to heal my anxiety?

            Nope, it’s definitely not.

            And if anyone promises you a program that does, run for the hills, my friend!

            Because anxiety isn’t a disease or a disorder. 

            It’s a symptom of a deeper imbalance.

            So when imbalances show up in your life, as they inevitably do, anxiety might show up again every once in a while, too.

            I'm religious, will this go against my faith?

            I help people heal by restoring the energy flow in their mind and body.

            When energy is allowed to flow, you feel vibrant and healthy.

            When there is an energetic blockage, dis-ease arises.

            This is because everything in the physical world is made of energy.

            If you zoom in on an atom, for example, you find that it is almost entirely made up of empty space.

            And any part that can be identified as not empty is energy.

            So an accurate way to think of your physical body is that it is made up of empty space in which energy flows. 

            You are the empty space in which life’s energy flows.

            And your thoughts and behaviors impact the flow of energy.

            They’re all interrelated as parts of the same system.

            My work is to help you identify and release energetic blockages from your system so you can thrive.

            And this can be on the level of body, mind, and yes, spirit –but not spirit as in religious doctrine.

            Spirit as in: the space in which energy flows.

            The space inside of you that is beyond thought, beyond the mind, beyond interpretation.

            Spirit as in: where energy comes from.

            Spirit as in: that which allows energy to flow in the first place.

            In my experience, in order to heal stress and anxiety you have to tap into the realm of spirit.

            Because the realm of spirit is where you find the capital “T” Truth, and it’s only the Truth that can ultimately set you free.

            You can talk about your problems with your therpist all you want, but you’re probably not going to get to the root of the issue.

            Because a talk therapist is totally focused on the realm of the mind.

            And the mind’s job is to identify and fix problems.

            It’s so good at what it does, in fact, that when there are no problems the mind will create new problems so it can have something to fix.

            The mind itself is a big part of where stress and anxiety come from.

            In order to heal stress and anxiety, you have to move beyond the realm of the mind.

            It’s when you learn to shift your focus beyond the mind, into your actual lived experience of this space in which life’s energy flows, that you find inner peace.

            Religions use words to point toward this space, in Christianity it’s called “The realm of heaven”.

            But the thing is, words can only point the way.

            To know it, you have to experience it for yourself.

            I believe that all great teachings are pointing to paths up the same mountain.

            The words they use might differ, but they all point to the capital “T” Truth that includes the space in which life’s energy flows.

            If you study and compare the roots of different religious traditions you will see what I mean.

            And because different teachings can help different people at different times, I draw on teachings from many great masters from various traditions.

            Jesus is one of those masters that I love to turn to, but he’s not the only one. And if this is a problem for you, then we’re not going to be a good fit.

            If, however, you are open to occasional refrences that are outside of a specific religious doctrine, then chances are you’re going to love this work.

            If want to commune with what is really here, if you want to explore who you really are, if you want to tap into the part of you that is eternal and steady within the storms of life, beyond the mind’s interpretation, then we can go far together.

            My job is not to try to convince you of anything or contradict your religion.

            Of coures, it could happen that what I say one day doesn’t agree with what your preacher says.
